IT IS 530 ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER THE 20TH, 2022.

[A. CALL TO ORDER]

I HEREBY CALL A MEETING OF THE ROUND ROCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES CALLED BOARD MEETING TO ORDER.

PLEASE STAND FOR THE PLEDGE.

ALL RIGHT. AT EACH BOARD MEETING, THE BOARD WILL SET ASIDE TIME TO AFFORD THE GENERAL PUBLIC AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA.

[C. PUBLIC COMMENTS TO AGENDA ITEMS ONLY]

WE ASKED THE CONCERNS OR COMPLAINTS REGARDING SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS NOT BE RAISED IN THIS PUBLIC FORUM.

SPECIFIC CONCERNS ABOUT EMPLOYEES OR FORMER EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED SEPARATELY ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE BOARD POLICIES.

THE BOARD REQUESTS THAT COMMENTS, WHETHER POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE, BE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL.

I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE AUDIENCE AND THE VIEWERS THAT THE COMMENTS OF THE SPEAKERS REFLECT THEIR OWN POSITIONS OR OPINIONS.

AND ALSO, AS A REMINDER, THE BOARD ADOPTED AN ANTI HATE RESOLUTION ON JANUARY 20TH, 2022, WHERE THE BOARD REAFFIRMED ITS COMMITMENT TO THE WELL-BEING AND SAFETY OF ALL PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, RELIGION, SEX, GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, DISABILITY, AGE, OR POLITICAL BELIEFS, AND STANDS AGAINST SPEECH THAT INCITES HATRED AND VIOLENCE TOWARDS ANY PERSON.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE THE PUBLIC DOES HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK, THAT RIGHT IS NOT UNLIMITED.

PER TEXAS PENAL CODE.

38.13. 42.01, 42.02 AND 42.05 AND TEXAS EDUCATION CODE 37.105.

NO AUDIENCE MEMBER OR SPEAKER WILL BE PERMITTED TO ENGAGE IN ANY CONDUCT THAT VIOLATES THE PRIVACY RIGHTS OF ANOTHER PERSON.

THE BOARD SHALL NOT TOLERATE DISRUPTION OF THE MEETING BY MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE.

IF, AFTER AT LEAST ONE MORE INDIVIDUAL WARNING BY THE FROM THE PRESIDING OFFICER, ANY INDIVIDUAL CONTINUES TO DISRUPT THE MEETING BY HIS OR HER WORDS OR ACTIONS.

THE PRESIDING OFFICER WILL REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS TO HAVE THE INDIVIDUAL REMOVED FROM THE MEETING.

THE BOARD MAY NOT DISCUSS OR ACT UPON ANY MATTER THAT IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE ACTION PORTION OF THE AGENDA.

THEREFORE, BOARD MEMBERS MAY NOT DISCUSS THE COMMENTS OF SPEAKERS.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT A LACK OF RESPONSE FROM THE BOARD MEMBER DOES NOT INDICATE AGREEMENT OR APPROVAL.

EACH SPEAKER WILL BE GIVEN 2 MINUTES TO ADDRESS THE BOARD.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO REMIND THE AUDIENCE THAT THE CONTENT OF TONIGHT'S CLOSED SESSION ITEMS ARE NOT ON THE AGENDA.

SO YOU MAY SPEAK AND ADDRESS THE GRIEVANCE PROCESS, BUT YOU MAY NOT SPEAK TO THE CONTENT OF ANYTHING THAT IS ON THE AGENDA.

IF YOU VIOLATE THE PRIVACY RIGHTS OF OF A CHILD, WE WILL BE STOPPING YOUR PUBLIC COMMENTS.

THE FIRST SPEAKER TONIGHT IS MICHELLE EVANS.

SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D 1 AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

I DO WANT SOME CLARIFICATION ABOUT WHAT WE'RE ALLOWED TO SPEAK ON.

AM I ALLOWED TO SPEAK GENERALLY ABOUT THE TOPIC WITHOUT THE TOPIC IS NOT ON THE AGENDA.

OKAY, THEN. I DON'T HAVE ANY.

YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY? I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY.

THANK YOU. NEXT ON THE AGENDA IS LINDSAY LEDGER SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D2 AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

HI. I KNOW THIS IS THE SECOND NIGHT THAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT DR.

AZAIEZ'S REVIEW.

I JUST WANT TO REITERATE, LAST TIME I CALLED IN KIND OF HAPHAZARD, TAKING MY KID TO VOLLEYBALL.

BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY, I THINK HE'S DOING A GOOD JOB.

I THINK HE'S DOING A GOOD JOB OF ENGAGING WITH THE COMMUNITY AND WITH PARENTS.

AND HE TAKES THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY.

HE IS HE'S IMPLEMENTED PROGRAMS ALREADY LIKE THE EARLY PRE-K, AND HE IS REALLY TRYING TO HELP IMPROVE OUR STUDENT OUTCOMES AND TO HEAR FROM ALL OF OUR STUDENTS FROM ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

AND SO I JUST LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE IN THAT CAPACITY.

I'D LIKE TO SEE HIM BE ABLE TO DO THINGS LIKE IMPLEMENT THE TEACHER INCENTIVE ALLOTMENT IN OUR DISTRICT AND BE ABLE TO HELP BOOST OUR SALARIES FOR OUR OUR TEACHERS LIKE HE DID IN DONNA ISD. AND I JUST THINK WE SHOULD GIVE HIM THE CHANCE TO CONTINUE TO DO THAT.

OUR STUDENT OUTCOMES HAVE IMPROVED, AND I THINK THAT IS A TESTAMENT TO THE LEADERSHIP THAT WE HAVE IN OUR DISTRICT RIGHT NOW.

SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

NEXT IS JENNIE GUSTIN SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D ONE AND D TWO.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

CAN I HAVE A POINT OF ORDER BEFORE SHE SPEAKS? YES. CAN WE GET CLARIFICATION FROM LEGAL? BECAUSE WE'VE NEVER NOT ALLOWED PEOPLE TO SPEAK ON AGENDA TOPICS BECAUSE..

THIS HAS BEEN THE LEGAL ADVICE WE HAVE RECEIVED PREVIOUSLY THAT THEY'RE ALLOWED TO SPEAK ON THE GRIEVANCE PROCESS AND NOT TO THE CONTENT OF THE GRIEVANCE BECAUSE THE CONTENT AND THE IS NOT ON THE AGENDA.

WE ARE HEARING A GRIEVANCE AND WE ARE NOT HEARING A SPECIFIC TIME.

SO LITERALLY THE LAST TIME WE HEARD A GRIEVANCE, PEOPLE CAME TO THE MIC AND TALKED ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THE GRIEVANCE.

SO THAT'S WHY I WOULD LIKE CLARIFICATION FROM LEGAL.

SO JUST SO WE WE HAVE CLARIFICATION AND THE AUDIENCE AND GETS TO HEAR.

I'D PREFER TO GIVE MY ADVICE IN CLOSED SESSION JUST BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS WHAT THE AGENDA MATTER IS ABOUT.

[00:05:09]

SO YOU GENERALLY TALK ABOUT LIKE THE OPEN MEETING AND TALKING ABOUT WHAT'S ON THE AGENDA AND YEAH I MEAN..

SO THE GRIEVANCE IS ON THE AGENDA THAT IS CLEAR.

SO IF THE GRIEVANT HAS SPOKEN TO FRIENDS OR FAMILY AND THEY WANT TO COME ADVOCATE FOR THIS GRIEVANCE, ARE THEY NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK? AND THIS MATTER INVOLVES, SEE THAT'S WHAT I MEAN. I DON'T WANT TO REALLY TALK ABOUT WHAT IT INVOLVES.

WELL, BUT CAN THEY INVOLVE STUDENT PRIVACY CONCERNS AND PRIVACY CONCERNS? WELL, BUT IF THEY'RE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT A STUDENT, WHAT IF THEY'RE JUST TALKING ABOUT THE GRIEVANCE? THAT'S WHAT I'M MEAN, YOU CAN SEPARATE THOSE TWO THINGS OUT.

AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THE SPEAKER WAS GOING TO DO THAT.

THE SPEAKER DOES NOT FEEL LIKE SHE IS VIOLATING ANYBODY'S.

IT'S DIFFICULT TO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO SPEAK ABOUT.

AND THIS IS A STUDENT MATTER.

AND I DON'T BELIEVE IN THE PAST THE SPEAKERS HAVE ALLOWED TO HAVE BEEN SPEAKING ON THE WE HAVE STUDENT.

WELL, MAYBE NOT THE STUDENT. I DON'T THINK THERE WERE STUDENT MATTERS.

WE HAVEN'T HAD A STUDENT COMPLAINT.

STUDENT RELATED COMPLAINT.. THIS ONE'S A FERPA PROTECTED ISSUE.

AND THAT'S WHY ON THE AGENDA IT HAS JUST THE INITIALS OF THE GRIEVANT AND NOT EVEN THE NAME.

BUT THE RESOLUTION IS NOT.

I'M NOT I'M JUST TALKING VERY GENERAL.

JUST THE RESOLUTION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STUDENT, SO IT ACTUALLY HAS TO DO WITH A PROCESS.

SO THAT'S WHAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY, BECAUSE I THINK IT COULD BE RELEVANT.

AND IF THEY FEEL LIKE THEY'RE NOT VIOLATING ANY FERPA, NOT TALKING ABOUT A STUDENT AND I REALLY WOULD NOT LIKE A COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST OUR BOARD CONSIDERING EVERYTHING.

SO IF THEY'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT A STUDENT, DO WE NOT ALLOW THEM TO? THE ISSUE IS THAT IF WE ALLOW THEM TO SPEAK ABOUT THIS MATTER, IT COULD INVOLVE THE STUDENTS THAT ARE AT ISSUE IN THE GRIEVANCE.

SO ARE YOU SAYING WE CAN ALLOW THEM NOT TO TALK BECAUSE WE THINK THEY MIGHT? I MEAN, THAT'S WHERE I'M I'M WORRIED THAT WE'RE OVERSTEPPING THERE.

BUT I MEAN, IF THIS WERE TO COME UP AS A POLICY, THEN PEOPLE WOULD BE ABLE TO SPEAK AT THAT POINT.

THIS IS ABOUT STUDENTS, BUT IT'S NOT ABOUT A STUDENT.

I MEAN, EVEN THE GRIEVANT IS SHAKING HER HEAD.

THIS COMPLAINT IS NOT ABOUT A STUDENT.

THIS COMPLAINT IS ABOUT A PROCESS AND A POLICY OF THE DISTRICT.

POINT OF ORDER. WHAT IS YOUR POINT? MADAM CHAIR, WE HAVE LEGAL COUNSEL FOR A REASON.

LEGAL COUNSEL HAS SPOKEN.

I FEEL LIKE WE CAN EITHER MOVE ON OR WE CAN GO INTO CLOSED SESSION SO LEGAL COUNSEL CAN SPEAK FREELY.

I NEED SOME ADVICE.

SOME DIRECTIVE FROM THE BOARD.

POINT OF ORDER. WHAT IS YOUR POINT? IN FEBRUARY OF 2022 AND IN SEPTEMBER AND AUGUST OF 2022, WE WERE ALREADY GOT A PRECEDENT OF THREE TIMES THIS YEAR.

I CAN THINK OF OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD THAT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC HAVE COME TO THE MICROPHONE DURING PUBLIC COMMENTS TO COMMENT ON GRIEVANCE THAT'S LISTED ON THE AGENDA IN THE SAME WAY THAT IT'S STYLED.

TONIGHT, I'D LIKE TO HEAR THE COMMENTS FROM OUR SPEAKERS.

CAN WE GO INTO CLOSE THEN, PLEASE? OKAY. WE'RE GOING TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION BEFORE WE CONTINUE PUBLIC COMMENT.

IT IS 538.

I'M GOING TO ASK EVERYONE TO LEAVE THE ROOM SO THAT WE CAN HAVE DISCUSSION WITH OUR ATTORNEYS IN CLOSED SESSION.

YOU HAVE TO READ. YEP.

SORRY, I'M GOING TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION PURSUANT TO TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE 551.071551.07455.

[D. CLOSED SESSION]

1.082 AND 551.0821.

THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS AND DELIBERATE AND CONSIDER.

THAT'S FINE. THE 071 IS ATTORNEY ADVICE SO WE CAN JUST BEFORE WE HEAR THE ACTUAL PUBLIC COMMENTS.

YEAH, OKAY. IT IS 5:38 AND WE ARE IN CLOSED SESSION.

[E. CALL BACK TO ORDER/EXECUTIVE SESSION MOTIONS]

IT IS 5:58.

WE ARE BACK IN OPEN SESSION.

I HAVE A POINT OF ORDER. WHAT IS YOUR POINT? MADAM PRESIDENT, I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE THAT THE BOARD RECEIVE A WRITTEN LEGAL OPINION FROM BOARD COUNSEL REGARDING THE PROHIBITION OF SPEAKERS AND TONIGHT'S BOARD MEETING WITH REGARD TO ITEM AGENDA ITEM D1 AS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION WITH REGARD TO FERPA.

CAN YOU REPEAT THAT? I MOVE THAT THE BOARD OBTAIN A LEGAL OPINION IN WRITING FROM BOARD COUNSEL REGARDING THE ADVICE GIVEN TO PROHIBIT A PUBLIC AT LEAST ONE PUBLIC SPEAKER FROM SPEAKING DURING PUBLIC COMMENTS WITH REGARD TO ITEM D1 ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA.

I'LL SECOND THAT MOTION.

I HAVE A SUBSTITUTE MOTION.

I MOVE THAT THE THE LEGAL ADVICE, THE WRITTEN LEGAL ADVICE ONLY BE GIVEN TO THE BOARD PRESIDENT IN TERMS OF BEING IN WRITING THAT IT NOT BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE FULL BOARD.

JUST AS A RECORD OF OR CAN BE PUT IN THE CERTIFIED AGENDA.

BUT THAT IT NOT BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE FULL BOARD, BUT BE ONLY DISTRIBUTED TO AS A ONLY AS A RECORD OF WHAT TOOK THE ADVICE WE WERE GIVEN AND CLOSED. CAN YOU CONCISE THAT TO EMOTION AGAIN?

[00:10:04]

VALERIE, YOU WANT TO HELP ME ON THAT ONE? I THINK COREY HAS MADE A AN AMENDED MOTION FROM TRUSTEE WESTON'S TO OBTAIN A LEGAL WRITTEN OPINION, BUT ONLY TO PROVIDE THAT TO THE BOARD PRESIDENT AND NOT THE ENTIRE BOARD FOR WHAT WAS JUST DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION REGARDING ITEM D ONE.

IF YOU WANT TO PUT IT ON THE CERTIFIED AGENDA, I'M AMENABLE.

SECOND, BUT NOT TO THE BOARD PRESIDENT.

THE CERTIFIED AGENDA, SHE DID MENTION CERTIFIED AGENDA.

SO YOU DECIDE ON YOUR SUBSTITUTE OR AMENDED MOTION.

OKAY. IF WE'VE GOT THE IF WE'VE GOT THIS ADDED TO THE CERTIFIED AGENDA, THEN I'LL SECOND YOUR MOTION.

TRUSTEE VESSA. OK.

I'M FINE WITH THAT. WE'LL JUST PUT IT ON THE CERTIFIED AGENDA.

OKAY. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A SUBSTITUTE MOTION MADE BY CORY VESSA, TRUSTEE VESSA TO GO AHEAD AND OBTAIN A WRITTEN LEGAL OPINION, BUT TO PROVIDE IT ON THE CERTIFIED AGENDA FOR TONIGHT'S MEETING REGARDING CLOSED SESSION AND TRUSTEE WESTON HAS AH SECOND OF THAT SUBSTITUTE MOTION.

SO IF THE BOARD WOULD LIKE TO VOTE ON THAT MOTION.

ALL IN FAVOR RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED. MOTION FAILS, THREE-FOUR.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS? OKAY. WE'RE GOING TO PROCEED.

I'M SORRY. THAT ONE FAILED.

YOU STILL HAVE THE OTHER MOTION? NO, SHE DID A SUBSTITUTE MOTION.

YOU'RE RIGHT. SO.

OKAY. SO WE ARE GOING TO PROCEED UNDER THE SAME GUIDELINES THAT WERE GIVEN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEETING.

NEXT UP IS JENNIE GUSTIN SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D ONE AND D TWO.

YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

POINT OF ORDER. WHAT IS YOUR POINT? ARE WE CLARIFYING THAT THEY CANNOT SPEAK ON D1 AT ALL? RIGHT. IF THEY CAN SPEAK TO THE COMPLAINT PROCESS, THE GRIEVANCE PROCESS, THE FACT THAT WE HAVE A GRIEVANCE, THE CONTENT OF WHAT IS ON AGENDA, ITEM D1 IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.

AND SO THEY CAN ONLY SPEAK TO WHAT IS POSTED ON THE AGENDA.

BUT THE GRIEVANCE PROCESS IS NOT ON THE AGENDA.

THE FACT THAT THERE IS A GRIEVANCE, YOU CAN SPEAK TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS A GRIEVANCE, BUT THE CONTENT OF THE AGENDA OF THE GRIEVANCE IS NOT ON THE AGENDA.

I JUST WANTED TO BE CLEAR. SO THE RULES ARE ALL THE SAME.

YOU CAN SPEAK TO AGENDA ITEM D1, BUT YOU CAN SPEAK TO THE FACT THAT IT IS A GRIEVANCE ON THE AGENDA.

THE CONTENT OF THE GRIEVANCE IS NOT ON THE AGENDA.

GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS JENNY GUSTIN AND I'M A ROUND ROCK ISD PARENT.

DR. AZAIEZ HAS BEEN KEY IN SUPPORTING SUCCESSFUL DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS AND SHOWS HE GENUINELY CARES BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION AND TRANSPARENCY.

ON BEHALF OF CHEWY ZARATE.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO VOICE SUPPORT OF DR.

AZAIEZ WORK IN THE DISTRICT AS A COLLABORATIVE PROFESSIONAL.

HE LISTENS AND COOPERATE AND INCORPORATES FEEDBACK FROM COLLEAGUES AND PARENTS ALIKE.

DESPITE THE LOUD CHAOS SOME HAVE CREATED IN OUR DISTRICT, I AM PROUD OF THE WORK HE HAS DONE AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE.

I PERSONALLY WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE DISTRICT FOR UPHOLDING TITLE NINE PROTECTIONS TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. NEXT IS MARSHALL SPRAGUE SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D TWO AND F ONE AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT? YES, MA'AM, I DO.

I'M HERE TONIGHT TO URGE THE BOARD NOT TO VOTE FOR A BONUS OR A SALARY INCREASE FOR DR.

AZAIEZ BEYOND WHAT IS CONTRACTUALLY REQUIRED AND NOT TO VOTE FOR A CONTRACT EXTENSION.

I'M NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT CHARACTER ISSUES OR LEGAL ISSUES OR ANY OF THAT STUFF.

WHAT I'LL SIMPLY SAY IS THAT STARTING LAST SUMMER, THERE WAS A LOT OF CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THE SUPERINTENDENT.

THAT CONTROVERSY WAS COMPOUNDED WHEN THE SUPERINTENDENT CHOSE ON HIS OWN TO ARBITRARILY LIMIT THE NUMBER OF CHAIRS THAT WERE IN THIS ROOM, WHICH CREATED A WHOLE SERIES OF OTHER EVENTS.

THEN HE WAS NOT ACTUALLY PERFORMING THE JOB FOR 11 WEEKS, THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF 2022, BECAUSE HE WAS ON PAID LEAVE.

AT THE END OF THE DAY WHAT MATTERS IS NOT WHETHER DR.

AZAIEZ IS LIKED BY DISTRICT EMPLOYEES OR BY PARENTS.

WHAT MATTERS IS THE RESULTS.

AND I DON'T THINK WE'VE SEEN ENOUGH YET TO CONCLUDE THAT HIS EFFORTS HAVE RESULTED IN A MEANINGFUL IMPROVEMENT IN STUDENT OUTCOMES.

AND SO I PERSONALLY THINK THAT HE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT HE WAS REINSTATED AS THE SUPERINTENDENT IN MARCH.

I THINK HE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR THE 11 WEEKS OF PAID VACATION HE GOT, BUT I DO NOT THINK THAT HE SHOULD GET ANYTHING BEYOND WHAT IS CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

NEXT IS REBECCA MALICE SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM TWO.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

[00:15:02]

I'M JUST HERE TONIGHT TO VOICE MY FULL SUPPORT FOR DR.

AZAIEZ. IT'S BEEN A TOUGH YEAR.

I DON'T THINK ANYBODY WOULD DOUBT THAT.

WE'VE HAD UNPRECEDENTED TEACHERS LEAVING.

WE'VE HAD UNPRECEDENTED TEACHERS SICK COVERING FOR EACH OTHER.

I WON'T EVEN GET INTO HOW MUCH YOU PERSONALLY HAVE BEEN SLAMMED, UNJUSTIFIED, AND YOU'VE RISEN ABOVE IT.

OUR NUMBERS WERE GREAT THIS YEAR.

EVERY CAMPUS WAS PASSING AND GREAT.

THEY'RE NOT ALL A'S, BUT IT'S A STEP FORWARD.

IT'S CALLED PROGRESS FOR A REASON.

MR. COVINGTON I DON'T SEE MR. COVINGTON, BUT HE'S DONE A FANTASTIC JOB WITH THE BUDGET EXPLAINING IT.

SO EVEN SOMEBODY WHO DOESN'T HAVE A PH.D.

LIKE MYSELF CAN UNDERSTAND IT.

AND I JUST THINK, I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR THE TEAM YOU PUT TOGETHER, BECAUSE IT'S NOT JUST YOU WHO'S GOTTEN ALL THESE PERFORMANCES.

IT'S MR. COVINGTON.

IT'S MR. SMITH.

IT'S THE 7000 PEOPLE WHO SHOW UP DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND LOVE ON OUR CHILDREN AND PROTECT OUR CHILDREN AND PERFORM FOR OUR CHILDREN.

COVER EACH OTHER'S CLASS.

DO CRAZY BUS ROUTES, WHATEVER IS NEEDED TO KEEP THIS DISTRICT FUNCTIONING.

AND THE RESULTS ARE SHOWN.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

NEXT IS ALISHA MARCUM SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM F 1 AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

HEY, I AM HERE FOR THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME TO VOICE MY SUPPORT FOR DR.

AZAIEZ. SO I WILL BE BRIEF.

DR. AZAIEZ PRIORITIZES DATA DRIVEN STRATEGIES AIMED AT CLOSING LEARNING GAPS AND IMPROVING EDUCATION OUTCOMES FOR ALL STUDENTS, WHICH HAS LED TO MORE CAMPUSES WITH AN A ACADEMIC RATING THAN EVER.

AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, NO CAMPUS IS BELOW A C.

HE HAS MADE EXCEPTIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE HIRES LIKE MR. COVINGTON AND MR. CURRAN, WHO HAVE IMPLEMENTED STRATEGIES TO BRING SOME STABILITY TO OUR DISTRICT DURING A DIFFICULT TWO YEARS.

IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT DR.

AZAIEZ CONTINUES TO MOVE THIS DISTRICT FORWARD AND TAKE MEANINGFUL ACTION TO ADDRESS THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY, DESPITE THE DISRUPTION AND THE CHAOS CONSTANTLY THROWN HIS WAY. PLEASE KNOW MUCH OF THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTS THE WORK HE IS DOING HERE.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

NEXT ON THE AGENDA, NEXT SPEAKER IS KEN MADSEN SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D2 AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

YES. HI. I CAME HERE BECAUSE I FOUND OUT THAT MY TAXES ARE GOING UP $991.

I'M SORRY, WE'RE NOT POSTED FOR TAXES.

IS IT RELATE TO THE SUPERINTENDENTS EVALUATION? YES. I'LL GIVE YOU A LITTLE LEEWAY.

AND I WAS SURPRISED ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I FOUND OUT THAT IT'S GOING UP.

WE HAVE A SUPERINTENDENT THAT I DISAGREE WITH, HAS NOT DONE A REALLY GREAT JOB AND I CONCUR WITH THE OTHER SPEAKER AS WELL.

BUT IT'S REALLY AT $350,000, $90,000 FOR PAID LEAVE.

WHAT AM I REALLY GETTING FOR MY MONEY? AND THAT'S THE BIGGEST ISSUE HERE.

PROPERTY TAXES ARE GOING UP.

INFLATION IS OUT OF CONTROL.

I REALLY DO BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE A LOT BETTER CANDIDATES THAT COULD PROBABLY DO A MUCH BETTER JOB.

THERE'S A LOT OF CONTROVERSY AROUND THIS SUPERINTENDENT.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE BOARD ISN'T WILLING TO GO OUT AND LOOK AT OTHER CANDIDATES.

AT $350,000 I'LL DO IT FOR 200, SO I'LL THROW MY HAT IN.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU. NEXT IS KYLE CRAIG SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D2.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

HEY, GUYS. I JUST WANT TO SECOND WHAT KEN JUST SAID.

MY TAXES HAVE GONE WAY UP.

I PAY TOO MUCH IN TAXES ALREADY.

$350,000 A YEAR IS A LOT OF MONEY.

I ALSO DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A PERMANENT RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST THE MR. AZAIEZ, WHICH HE AGREED TO.

AND I'M THINKING, IS THIS THE BEST THIS DISTRICT CAN DO? IS THIS THE BEST YOU GUYS CAN DO? YOU HIRED HIM. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. NEXT IS MARK COSTINBADER SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D ONE IN D TWO.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

YES, MARC COSTINBADER I'M A PARENT TAXPAYER, AND I JUST WANT TO SUPPORT THE EXTENSION OF DR.

AZAIEZ CONTRACT. I MEAN, REALLY, THE MAN'S ONLY HAD SIX MONTHS TO DO THE JOB.

HE WAS UNDER ATTACK SINCE BEFORE HE EVEN SET FOOT IN THIS ROOM.

YOU KNOW, WE TALK ABOUT STARTING OVER WITH A NEW SUPERINTENDENT.

WE NEED STABILITY IN THE DISTRICT RIGHT NOW.

IT'S BEEN AN EXTREMELY ROUGH COUPLE OF YEARS, TO SAY THE LEAST.

I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE ON THAT.

YOU'VE SHOWN YOURSELF TO BE, I THINK, A WISE JUDGE OF TALENT.

FOR EXAMPLE, IN THE PEOPLE THAT YOU'VE BROUGHT INTO THE DISTRICT.

THAT'S A KEY CHARACTERISTIC IN A LEADER.

[00:20:02]

AND I ALSO GET THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU CARE DEEPLY ABOUT STUDENT OUTCOMES, DIVERSITY, EQUITY, THOSE ARE THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO ME.

AND I JUST I JUST WANT TO VOICE MY SUPPORT FOR THE EXTENSION OF YOUR CONTRACT.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

NEXT IS FABIAN CUERO SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM F1.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

GOOD EVENING TRUSTEES, DR.

AZAIEZ, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE] I'M HERE TO SUPPORT DR.

AZAIEZ. USUALLY WHEN A PERSON THAT JOINS OR IS PUT IN A POSITION OF LEADERSHIP, HE IS QUESTIONED BY CERTAIN GROUPS.

WHITE SUPREMACISTS.

AND CHRISTIAN NATIONALISTS THAT CAUSES A PLAYBOOK FROM FROM THEIR END TO COME OUT.

AND WHAT IS THAT? NUMBER ONE, THEY QUESTION HIS ABILITY TO LEAD.

WE'VE SEEN THAT OVER THE PAST YEAR.

NUMBER TWO, THEY ATTACK THE CHARACTER.

DOES THIS RELATE TO THE SUPERINTENDENT'S EVALUATION? YES. OKAY. AND THEN NUMBER THREE, WHEN ALL THAT FAILS, THEY CRIMINALIZE HIM.

SO I'M HERE TO SUPPORT DR.

AZAIEZ TO GET INCREASE WHATEVER NEEDS TO DO.

LET THE MAN LEAD.

LET'S LET HIM DO THE WORK.

WE HAVE TIME TO COME BACK AND EVALUATE HIM AT THE END OF THE PROCESS.

BUT IF YOU DON'T ALLOW HIM TO DO THE WORK, HOW CAN WE GROW AS A DISTRICT? SO I'M SUPPORT WHATEVER MEASURE IT NEEDS TO TAKE.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

NEXT IS ROB LIM SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM F1.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

POINT OF ORDER. I'M GOING TO CALL FROM DECORUM FOR THE AUDIENCE.

NEXT IS ROB LIM SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM F1.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

YEAH. I'M HERE TO SPEAK.

I DON'T THINK HE SHOULD EVEN HAVE A JOB.

HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN HIRED.

THERE IS TOO MANY THINGS IN HIS CHARACTER PROFILE THAT I DON'T THINK A TEACHER WOULD HAVE GOT HIRED WITH ALL THESE THINGS IN HIS REPERTOIRE, IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT THAT. HIS PAY IS WAY TOO HIGH.

THE TEACHERS NEED MORE MONEY.

THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHOOL GETS ENTIRELY TOO MUCH OF THE BUDGET.

THE TEACHERS NEED MORE SUPPORT AND MORE PAY, AND IT HAS TO COME OUT OF THE TOP BECAUSE YOU CAN'T KEEP MILKING US TAXPAYERS FOR MORE MONEY.

HE SHOULD NOT BE GETTING HIS CONTRACT EXTENDED AND OBVIOUSLY NO BONUSES.

THAT'S JUST THE SIMPLE FACTS OF LIFE.

HE HAS NOT PERFORMED ANY DUTIES TO MAKE ANYBODY GET A BETTER EDUCATION IN THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT.

SO I THINK HE SEEMS TO BE LOST AS FAR AS WHAT DIRECTION TO TAKE THE SCHOOL.

AND IT SHOULD HAVE STARTED BY RECRUITING MORE TEACHERS AND UPPING THE PAY RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

THANKS. I THINK WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO OUR VIRTUAL SPEAKERS NOW.

NEXT UP IS CATHERINE LEACH SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D1 AND YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

SO I'VE HAD TO EDIT WHAT I ORIGINALLY WANTED TO SHARE.

I MUST SAY, I'M A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT THE LEVEL OF CENSORSHIP THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW AND THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY RELATIVE TO THE DETAILS.

BUT I WILL SPEAK TO SAFETY.

I'M SORRY, SAFETY IS NOT ON THE AGENDA FOR TONIGHT.

THAT'S WHAT YOU WERE REFERENCING PRIOR TO GOING TO CLOSED SESSION, THOUGH.

SAFETY IS NOT ON THE AGENDA FOR TONIGHT.

AND IN A CALLED BOARD MEETING, YOU CAN ONLY SPEAK TO ITEMS THAT ARE ON THE AGENDA.

I UNDERSTAND THAT. WELL, THIS WILL JUST BE BASIC COMMENTS, THEN.

THE THE WOMAN THAT CAME UP TO THE MICROPHONE FIRST.

ARE YOU GOING TO CALL ON HER AGAIN NOW THAT YOU HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION OF WHAT THE REQUIREMENTS ARE TO SPEAK, BECAUSE YOU'VE ALREADY PASSED HER? AND IS SHE GOING TO GET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO COME UP TO THE MIC? THAT ITEM IS NOT ON THE AGENDA EITHER.

YOUR TIME IS. EXCUSE ME.

YEAH, BUT ARE YOU GOING TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PERSON THAT WAS UP FIRST AND THEN YOUR TIME JUST RUNNING? MY GOODNESS. OKAY.

WELL, I GUESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE TEXAS AFT SAFE SCHOOLS ACT THAT ADDRESSES STUDENT BEHAVIOR AND SAFETY.

I'M SORRY THAT YOU'RE NOT ON THE AGENDA TONIGHT EITHER.

LET'S SEE. WHAT ABOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS? THAT'S NOT ON THE AGENDA FOR TONIGHT.

[00:25:02]

IT'S IN WITH WITH REGARDS TO D1 THAT'S ON THE AGENDA, THE CONTENT OF WHAT IS ON BEING HELD IN D1 IS BEING HELD IN CLOSED AND IT'S NOT ON THE AGENDA. SO NO ONE CAN SPEAK TO THAT WHATSOEVER.

YOUR TIME IS UP.

THANK YOU. NEXT IS AMY SOUZA SPEAKING ON AGENDA ITEM D1.

AND YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

I'M SORRY. I NEED CLARITY.

THEN WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF THAT WHICH I AM ABLE TO SPEAK TO ON D1? THE FACT THAT WE HAVE A GRIEVANCE ON THE AGENDA, THE CONTENT OF THE GRIEVANCE IS NOT ON THE AGENDA, BUT THE FACT THAT WE HAVE A GRIEVANCE ON THE AGENDA.

YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE HAVE A GRIEVANCE, BUT NOT ABOUT WHAT IT IS ABOUT.

I GUESS I'M CONFUSED BECAUSE WHAT WOULD I SPEAK TO THEN AND WHAT WOULD BE AN EXAMPLE OF SOMETHING THAT I WOULD SAY? I WOULD JUST SAY THERE IS A GRIEVANCE ON THE AGENDA.

THIS SEEMS IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THERE IS NOT YOU PUT AN ITEM ON THE AGENDA AND THERE'S NO ABILITY TO ACTUALLY HAVE A CONVERSATION.

WHAT WHAT WOULD YOU ONE, EVEN SPEAK TO ABOUT THE FACT THAT THERE IS A GRIEVANCE WITHOUT SPEAKING TO WHAT THE GRIEVANCE PERTAINS TO? YOUR TIME IS RUNNING.

ADVICE HAS BEEN GIVEN.

YEAH. I GUESS I'M JUST FRUSTRATED BECAUSE I'D LIKE TO OFFER MY VOICE AND MAKE A PUBLIC RECORD OF MY CONCERNS.

AND YET, I MEAN, I DON'T.

IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THERE'S A GRIEVANCE ITEM ON THE AGENDA.

BUT WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SPEAK TO THE GRIEVANCE, WHAT WOULD ONE EVEN SPEAK TO CONCERNING THAT AGENDA ITEM? IT SEEMS LIKE THEN IT'S A MOOT AGENDA ITEM.

IT DOESN'T OFFER THE PUBLIC AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO ANYTHING.

SO WHY IS IT ON THE AGENDA? THIS IS POSTED AS A PARENT COMPLAINT, AND THOSE ARE GENERALLY REGARDING STUDENT MATTERS THAT ARE PROTECTED BY FERPA.

THAT'S WHY THEY ARE POSTED FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE BOARD AND CLOSED SESSION..

THIRTY SECONDS. SO, OKAY, GREAT.

SO I'LL JUST SAY THAT MANY OF US CAME TO SPEAK TO AGENDA ITEM D ONE SO THAT WE COULD SPEAK OUR CONCERNS PUBLICLY AND YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THEM.

AND I'M JUST GOING TO SAY, I GUESS THEN IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO THOSE CONCERNS PUBLICLY.

I THINK THAT THOSE OF US WHO CAME HERE TO DO THAT, IT SEEMS VERY..

YOUR TIME IS ENDED. THANK YOU.

NEXT ON THE AGENDA IS CRAIG BEERS SPEAKING TO AGENDA ITEM TWO.

AND YOU DO LIVE IN THE DISTRICT.

[INAUDIBLE] GRIEF AND NOT NEARLY AS CONTENTIOUS.

I JUST WANT TO POST SUPPORT FOR DR.

AZAIEZ AND TO SAY THAT, AT LEAST FROM THE VIEWPOINT THAT I HAVE, THAT THINGS ARE GOING WELL, AT LEAST WITH MY CHILDREN SCHOOL, THINGS ARE OPERATING SMOOTHLY AND THEN ATTENDING BOARD MEETINGS.

THAT TEAM THAT IS BUILT.

SOMEBODY ALREADY SPOKE EARLIER ABOUT THE STAFF THAT IS BUILT UP.

AND THAT'S WHAT'S KEY IS KIND OF THE THE TEAM THAT'S BEEN BUILT UP AROUND IT AND US CONTINUING TO OPERATE.

SO I JUST WANT TO VOICE SUPPORT AND THAT'S IT.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THAT CONCLUDES PUBLIC COMMENT FOR TONIGHT.

[ADDITIONAL ITEM]

WE ARE GOING TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION NOW.

I'M GOING TO READ US INTO JUST THE FIRST ONE AND THEN WE WILL COME BACK OUT AND THEN WE'LL GO BACK IN FOR D2.

PURSUANT TO TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE 551.071 AND 551.074551.082 AND 551.0821.

THE BOARD WILL DISCUSS, DELIBERATE AND CONSIDER THE LEVEL THREE PARENT COMPLAINT OF RS.

IT IS 6:18 AND WE ARE IN CLOSED SESSION.

IT IS 9:30.

WE ARE BACK IN OPEN SESSION.

DO I HAVE ANY MOTIONS COMING OUT OF CLOSED?

[F. ACTION ITEM]

YES. I MOVED THAT THE BOARD AWARD THE SUPERINTENDENT AND INCENTIVE AND PERFORMANCE PAYMENT OF $28,900 AS REQUIRED AND EARNED UNDER THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT. SECOND.

OK, I HAVE A MOTION AND A SECOND, ANY COMMENTS? TRUSTEE WESTON. YEAH, I'LL JUST REFER THE PUBLIC TO PAGE FOUR OF THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT BECAUSE THAT MOTION SAID THE WORD REQUIRED.

IT CLEARLY STATES HERE THAT THIS IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD, PAYABLE ONLY IN THE EVENT THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT MEETS THE LONESTAR GOVERNANCE GOALS AND CONSTRAINTS

[00:30:02]

ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD.

SO I WOULD JUST REFER THE COMMUNITY TO PAGE FOUR.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS? SEEING NONE. ALL IN FAVOR, RAISE YOUR HAND.

ALL OPPOSED. MOTION PASSES FIVE-TWO.

ANY OTHER MOTIONS? YES. I MOVE THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT TERM BE EXTENDED FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD ENDING JUNE 30TH, 2025, AND THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD AND TRUSTEES ARE AUTHORIZED TO ENTER AND THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT REFLECTING THE ACTIONS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

SECOND, HAVE A MOTION AND A SECOND, ANY COMMENTS? JUST A LITTLE BIT SLOWER. AND THEN I HAVE A COMMENT.

I MOVE THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT TERM BE EXTENDED FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD ENDING JUNE 30, 2025, AND THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT REFLECTING THE ACTIONS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

OKAY. THANK YOU. MAY I GO, MADAM PRESIDENT? YES, PLEASE. SO I'M GOING TO BE EXPLAINING MY NO VOTE FOR THIS.

THE SUPERINTENDENT'S LICENSE HAS BEEN UNDER REVIEW BY THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY EDUCATOR INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION FOR A YEAR.

IN ADDITION, HE'S THE ONLY SUPERINTENDENT IN TEXAS WITH A PERMANENT RESTRAINING ORDER THAT I KNOW OF.

I HAVE VALID CONCERNS ABOUT THE FINDINGS IN DR.

ANN DICKSON'S INVESTIGATION REPORT REGARDING THE SUPERINTENDENT THAT SHE DELIVERED TO THE BOARD IN EARLY MARCH OF 2022.

FOR THESE REASONS, I CANNOT VOTE FOR A CONTRACT EXTENSION.

LASTLY, I VIEW THIS MOTION TO EXTEND THE SUPERINTENDENT'S CONTRACT AS AN INFLAMMATORY MOVE AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE VOTERS WHO WILL WEIGH IN ON THIS MATTER IN 45 SHORT DAYS.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS? TRUSTEE JOHNSON.

SO I JUST WANTED TO JUST SAY BRIEFLY THAT FOR ME, I WILL BE VOTING FOR AN EXTENSION THAT FOR ME THAT THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR PROCESS FOR ME, I DON'T WANT TO READJUDICATE ANYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED OR COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN.

WHAT I WANT TO THINK ABOUT IS THIS ABILITY OF THE DISTRICT AND US MOVING FORWARD THAT WE HAVE TO PUT OUR KIDS FIRST, THAT WE HAVE TO PUT THE WORK AND THE BUSINESS OF OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT FIRST. SO FOR ME, I'LL BE VOTING YES.

TRUSTEE VESSA.

AND FOR ME, I'M AN ABSTENTION ON THIS ONE, MAINLY BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE VOTING YES AT THIS TIME, BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THERE'S CERTAIN ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE RESOLVED FIRST.

AND I DO BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD HAVE THE ELECTION AND SEE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE BEFORE WE VOTE ON A CONTRACT EXTENSION.

AND HAD WE WAITED UNTIL THOSE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED, I WOULD HAVE BEEN A YES VOTE BECAUSE I REALLY DO THINK DR.

AZAIEZ IS DOING A GOOD JOB.

BUT BECAUSE OF THOSE THINGS, I'M GOING TO BE ABSTAINING FROM THE VOTE.

TRUSTEE BONE. THANK YOU.

I'M GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT I WILL ALSO BE A NO VOTE.

AND I AM THINKING ABOUT THE STUDENTS AND TAXPAYERS OF THIS DISTRICT AND THE TEACHERS, BECAUSE I'VE HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE TALK TO ME ABOUT AS A TEACHER, IF THEY IF THEIR LICENSE WAS FLAGGED, HOW THEY WOULD BE TREATED.

AND SO I JUST CANNOT EXTEND A CONTRACT UNTIL THE LICENSE ISSUE IS RESOLVED.

THE PERMANENT RESTRAINING ORDER IS ALSO A REASON THAT I JUST CANNOT EXTEND THIS CONTRACT.

WE ALSO HAVE INCREASED LEGAL FEES, AND I WOULD ALSO CONCUR WITH TRUSTEE VESSA THAT THE ELECTION IS, I BELIEVE, AROUND 45 DAYS AWAY.

AND THAT REALLY IS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

AND THE PEOPLE DO OWN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

I THINK IT'S TRUSTEE WESTON THAT TALKS ABOUT I AM JUST A TEMPORARY STEWARD OF THIS SEAT.

I DO NOT OWN THIS SEAT.

IT ACTUALLY IS OWNED BY THE PEOPLE.

AND WE HAVE SOME AMAZING CANDIDATES THAT HAVE STEPPED UP.

AND, YOU KNOW, WE WILL SEE WHO OWNS THESE SEATS AFTER NOVEMBER.

AND THEY REALLY OWN THE DISTRICT AND THE DIRECTION OF THE DISTRICT FOR THE BOARD AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DISTRICT AND A ONE YEAR EXTENSION CONTRACT ALSO THAT THAT COMES WITH A $350,000 GUARANTEE.

SO FOR THAT REASON, I WILL BE VOTING NO.

I'D LIKE TO MAKE A COMMENT.

I FULLY SUPPORT DR.

AZAIEZ. HE HIRES GREAT PEOPLE.

HE HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS AND IS BECOMING THESE HIGH EXPECTATIONS, BECOMING THE NEW NORMAL IN ROUND ROCK ISD.

AND OUR OVERALL PERFORMANCE IS CHANGING.

HE'S DEVELOPING A CULTURE TO WORK TOGETHER TO FIND SOLUTIONS, AND WE'RE SEEING A SYSTEMIC AND FULL TRANSFORMATION OF ROUND ROCK ISD, AND WE'RE LUCKY TO HAVE HIM.

I SEE NO OTHER LIGHTS ON AND WE HAVE A MOTION ON THE TABLE ALL IN FAVOR OF RAISE YOUR HAND.

[00:35:03]

ALL OPPOSED.

ABSTAINING. MOTION PASSES 4, 2, 1.

SEEING NOTHING ELSE ON THE AGENDA.

WE ARE ADJOURNED. 9:35.
